There are several Protected Areas within the region of Huelva County seeking to preserve its natural diversity:
Doñana National Park: These 55,327 ha are undoubtedly the most important natural area in Europe. There are many features that make unique this natural space, for example, the variety of ecosystems represented, its high diversity of species, the good general state of conservation, or its importance in the annual process of migration or wintering of birds . Its boundaries include municipalities of Huelva, Seville and Cadiz, bringing Huelva 5 municipalities in the Condado de Huelva region. It has been declared a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site (Unesco) and Special Protection Area (SPA), Place of Community Interest (SCI) and included as Ramsar Site. |
